Witness one of Maui's phenomenal sunrises from the top of Haleakala, then just when you think it can't get any sweeter, embark on a leisurely 28 mile downhill bike ride. On your descent, you'll see close-up scenic wonders that people in cars rarely notice. Bike It Maui does a great job in providing a family-style tour with little extras like a stop at a protea flower farm and a full breakfast after the ride at Charley's in Pa'ia.

Hi Petra! Thank you sooo much for giving me a chance to experience your trip yesterday. Below is a copy of the review I sent out to all the Expedia agents on Maui...I thought you'd like to read through it as well. Thank Kim and Kevin for me as well...they took great care of us!

Review:

Hey gang...I don't usually write up reviews, but I had such a good experience with Bike It Maui, I just had to pass it on! I had never been to see the sunrise on Haleakala, so that in itself was a perk, but the entire activity was so well executed, your guests will find it an absolute treat!
The round-trip transportation is key...getting picked up at 3am is so much nicer than driving it on your own, and the guides made sure to stop for restroom breaks and snacks on the way up. We got up Haleakala in time for them to tell us where the best places were to view the sunrise and get our coats on that they kindly provided (and gloves!), and then after sunrise we continued on up to the summit, so everyone could take a picture and see the view from the very top. We then drove down to 6500 feet where they geared us up and got us on our bikes. The ride down was amazing. It's paced really well with a couple stops along the way, but what a view! To see upcountry and look across to the west Maui mountains and down to the central valley all the while smelling the eucalyptus was just fabulous. We rode all the way down to Pa'ia (with the exception of loading up to drive through Makawao for safety's sake), and then had a FULL, hot breakfast at Charley's.
It's all included, tips for the waitress even, and what a difference that nice breakfast makes versus a continental breakfast!

The biggest thing for me (other than the obvious biking down a volcano!) were the two guides. Kim and Kevin were fantastic and made the trip. They were entertaining, knowledgeable, yet very serious about everyone's safety. They made sure that no one felt bad about getting in the van if they weren't having fun riding the bikes, they did a great job of communicating with the group, and a big thing for me....they ENJOY their job. We were never rushed to keep to a schedule, I never felt like they took short-cuts or cheated anyone of time for pictures or the chance to see the proteas at the Sunrise Market, it was just a really fun day hanging out with the local guides all the while zooming down Haleakala.

I highly recommend this trip...as long as people are comfortable on a bike, they'll love it! I think it's great to support a family-owned company with employees that are NICE to our guests, and your guests get that nice, hot breakfast instead of muffins. :o) Get out there and try it...you'll see for yourself the thrill of biking Haleakala!

Aloha,

First off let me tell you that we took the bike tour in July of 2009. A friend of ours is going to Maui in a few months and asked us what we would suggest they do in the short time they will be there. I told them that a trip to Maui would not be complete without doing the bike tour and that my personal highlight of our trip was sitting at the top of the world and watching the sun come up and then biking down the mountain. No one can sit up there and say God does not exist. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to see and do those two things I would never have the opportunity to do on my own. Our guide, Bill, was just great to be with. He was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and took care of our group from beginning to end. I know that sometimes a job can become tiring when you do it day after day, especially with personal life problems in general. Billy never showed that at all and it was obvious that he enjoyed what he was doing and that made it even more enjoyable for us. THANK you again. When I was on your website to get information for our friends, I saw out group picture and it brought all the memories back again. My question to you is this, is our group picture available to get or download on our own. As I said, our group was July 2009 and the picture number is DSC00556.jpg . Please let me know what my options are.

Mahalo,

Thank you for being the best! Being atop Mt Haleakala at sunrise and sailing down the mountain on a bike I felt nothing but "alive" and pure "joy". It was an AMAZING birthday, I will always remember where I was on my special day.
Kevin & Ryan were professionals. Very informative and always looking out for our safety. We really enjoyed being in a small, personal group versus a big tour. The breakfast at Charlie's was the perfect finish and delicious. Aloha Bike It Maui,

I just wanted to write and tell you how much my husband and I enjoyed our tour with Kevin and Billy. We recently traveled to Maui and the Big Island on our honeymoon. On Saturday, October 3rd, we took a tour with your company. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Kevin and Billy were awesome.... a great deal of fun and ready to tell us about everything we could possibly want to know about regarding Maui. I was really impressed with how well they knew the region and all it had to offer...both currently and throughout different periods historically. They were both eager to tell us fun little facts. The bike ride itself was a amazing and unlike anything we had ever done. I felt completely safe and at ease with Billy as our leader. They both had great positive energy and a true passion about their work. And even though the weather didn't cooperate and the sunshine didn't show up until we were heading down the mountain, I would say we were completely satisfied with our experience. The only disappointment was that we didn't meet Kevin and Billy until the end of our trip....we would have learned so much more about things we had already done on the island. One of my favorite parts of the day, (in addition to the DELICIOUS breakfasts at Charley's) was the ride back to Ka'anapali with Kevin. He was our own personal tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about the landscape and vegetation, history of the area and way of life of the Hawaiian people. They were both courteous and gracious guides and they certainly enhanced our experience tremendously. From start to finish, they were professional, really passionate about what they do and a great pleasure to have met. I would happily recommend Bike It Maui to anyone considering the Haleakala bike ride and if we are ever lucky enough to return to your beautiful island, we're sure to take another ride!! Thanks again for a great experience and a lifetime of memories! Mahalo!!

It's hard to believe that it's been a full month since we were there on your lovely island. How time flies! Anyway, I wanted to pass along a review for you guys. This was a trip that I will remember forever. It was so much fun that we did it twice! By far, what made this particular tour so special was your company and the people doing the tour.

Kevin, tall Billy-Billy (yes, I call him Billy-Billy), and Billy #2 were stellar. They possessed the right mix of humor and seriousness to make the trip both fun and safe. It didn't hurt that they were excellent exhibits of eye candy. :-) The outdoor scenery was also simply breathtaking. If I could somehow paste in a 'scent' file to describe the aromas that were present coming down the highway from the crater, you would smell lavender, ginger, eucalyptus, fresh grass, and the saltiness from the ocean. The breeze in my face and the stunning scenery whizzing by was something I can still imagine today just by closing my eyes. For anyone reading this - DO THE TOUR WITH BIKE IT MAUI. You won't be disappointed.

I'll continue to praise your company so that it drives as much business as possible your way.

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you all next time!

Just a short note to say thanks for the awesome tour. It was our last day on the island, what a great way to finish a fantastic vacation!

Everyone has talked about the amazing sunrise and it truly was but I have to comment on the beautiful display of stars we had the luck to see on the way up the mountain.

I was a little nervous at the start but soon got into the groove :-) The views were killer and the scenery and smells of the upcountry was an unexpected pleasure.

Breakfast was hearty and boy were we ready for it.

Safety was paramount and you really took care of us.

Hi Petra!

We just returned to California, but wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much fun we had! I was a little nervous about the steepness of the ride and if me and my son could handle it – but we did not chicken out – and ended up having the time of our lives. Kevin and Billy couldn’t have been any better – wanting to make the trip fun – but always stressing the importance of safety. We were even blessed with the most beautiful sunrise!

Thank you for an amazing memory – we’ll be calling you again the next time we’re in town.

Hi Petra,

I'll just write some sentence.
You can line out words or correct me also :-)

My name is Lisa, I'm 22y.o. and actually from Germany, but living in Boston.
I did Island hopping in Hawai'i and one of my stops was Maui.
I got the flyer from bikeitmaui and decided to do this awesome and unforgetable tour.
Luckily I got a place, because I booked kinda late.
We're a good group with 12 people, so we started to get know each other.
Billy picked me up at 3am - yeah...it was early...but I tell you, it's worth it!
So we went to Pa'ia, picked up the other Billy and the trailer and then arrived on the top of Mt.Haleakala....'til then everybody got to know each other ;-) It was amazing and incredible to see the sunrise and the clouds were below.
After the sunrise we started to bike the mountain down.
It was a wonderful tour and an unforgetable experience. Everybody should do it.
And we also had a huge + yammi breakfast at Charlies kitchen in Pa'ia !!!
Awesome!

Thanks Billy & Billy and of course Petra! I loved doing the tour and we're a good team!

Hope seeing you one day again!

Review of Bike it Maui
My husband and I took the tour on Mon., Aug. 3, 2009. It was truly the highlight of our holiday in Maui. If you are wondering what to do first on your trip to Maui, take this tour; I promise that you will never regret it.
Kevin and Billy were our guides for the day. They were well-organized, friendly, and enthusiastic. They eagerly shared their knowledge about Mount Haleakala, the crater, plantlife such as the Silver Swords, and the nearby geographic area. It was apparent that they enjoyed their work, and that meant alot to us.
Once at the top of Mount Haleakala, you quickly view the most amazing sight. the sunrise. I had anticipated an incredible sunrise, but I was still mesmorized by all of the beauty before me. Words could never recapture the feeling up there.
The bikeride down the mountain was the next part of the trip. I admit that I was a little nervous about the turns, so if you are at all apprehensive and questioning this tour because of the bikeride, don't. It is really quite an easy ride. And what fun!! Great views and the best part is that you are coasting, not pedalling!!
The tour ends at Charleys where you are greeted with a very large yummy breakfast. It also gave us a chance to talk to the others in our group about the tour thus far. It was nice meeting people from all over.
So if you are looking for an exhiliarating experience that you will remember for the rest of your life, book this tour!

Aloha, Petra!

Kathy and I cannot thank you, your husband, Kevin and Billy enough for the truly, memorable experience we enjoyed last week - biking down Haleakala! We always felt safe with Kevin and Billy's professionalism and obvious knowledge of biking down the "hill." Kathy, who was a little nervous at first, had an absolute blast! That says a lot about the way Kevin and Billy put us all at ease with their easy-going and humorous ways!

As if biking down the hill wasn't enough, we all experienced the sunrise at the summit of Haleakala and then topped off the whole adventure with breakfast at Charley's with food that was fantastically delicious! What more could anyone ask for?

This has easily become one of the best and unique adventures we've ever had here on the islands and we will never forget it or the fine folks who helped make it happen for us!

Dear Petra,

We weren't sure if we would be able to make it on your tour, having spent over 6 hours in standstill traffic the previous evening due to a terrible brush fire which closed all the major roads on the island.
Your calm and reassuring voice on the phone that night made our frazzled nerves relax. Were we ever ecstatic when we were able to experience seeing the magnificent sunrise on Mount Haleakala on June 22, 2009! Our guides, Craig and Billy, were so knowledgeable and entertaining while informing our group of the history of the mountain and surrounding areas and what we were to expect when we reached the lookout to see the awesome sunrise. Craig and Billy wanted us to get the most of our enjoyment of the tour, however they were very explicit of the safety issues regarding our bike ride down the mountain. Our gear was topnotch, and the warm parkas and gloves that you provided were very welcomed on that cold summer morning. Craig and Billy repeated the safety aspect of the tour several times before and during our tour, which was greatly appreciated. We knew that they wanted us to have the experience of a lifetime, but not at the expense of injury. The ride down the mountain was exhilarating and the breakfast at Charley's was delicious. No one could possibly leave there hungry. On our ride in the van the rest of the way, Billy and Craig entertained us with some local history of the agriculture of the surrounding farms, now that we could see them in the daylight! Their professionalism and humor was greatly enjoyed. I would absolutely recommend Bike It Maui to everyone.

Good Morning!

We would like to commend you and your team for an amazing Haleakala bik tour! Kevin and Billy were prompt, energetic and entertaining! Despite the clouded sunrise, our trip down the mountain was a blast! They had a genuine concern for our safety and well-being; we made a couple stops for people that were struggling with speed and to capture our scenic moments on film; one woman lost her contact and Billy didn't second guess getting her help and used the adequate resources to do so. They had a keen sense of situational awareness and had an efficient logistical process in order to maintain the flow of traffic and ultimately displayed strong teamwork to get us down the mountain while having the best time. Just when we thought, we'd had enough fun for one day, we were introduced to the macademia nut pancakes at Charley's; I've been trying to eat my leftovers small bits at a time because I don't want to run out before we head back to Arizona! Thank you all for an exciting experience and don't change anything you do!

Sincerely,

Aloha, Petra:

I am a pretty picky person while I select a merchandise from web sites. After hours search, I chose your company because of good information and the reasonable price. Although the sun didn't show its morning glory and drizzle made us wet at Sept. 13, 2007, I am very happy to let you know we did use a right company to experience our fantastic and thrilling bike ride from the top of Mount Haleakala. In very deed, my group sincerely thank Billy and Kevin for their good safety instructions and cautious lead. Billy's environmental knowledge and local language made the trip more interesting and Kevin's van protection behind us was very well done. Breakfast after ride (included in the package) was gigantic and delicious. Besides, we gained extra one hour sleep time in comparing with the arrangement made by other company. In future, I am willing to recommend my friends to use the BikeItMaui company for their downhill bike tour at Maui.

Thank you for your services.

We just wanted to thank Billy and Kim for the most fantastic experience biking down Haleakala. The sunrise was spectacular and the ride down the thrill of a lifetime.  Breakfast at Charley's was named "best breakfast of the vacation" by our entire party. That's saying a lot since we were staying at a five star hotel. The operation and equipment, especially those warm coats, was first rate.  Mostly we want to say how knowledgeable and personable Billy and Kim were. It was a pleasure spending time with them, it felt like old friends sharing a loved experience with us. Hope to see you next year.
A warm thanks for the memories,

Aloha Bike It Maui,

We just wanted to say that we had a great time on our bike ride! We were on the August 14th ride. Haleakala was awesome and the views were incredible. Kim and Dave were our guides and they made the trip great. They both made us feel safe and allowed us to have fun on our ride.  I was lucky enough to be the first in line behind Dave and really got my very own personal tour and learned a lot of Maui fun facts! We couldn't stop talking about the ride when we got home. We recommended you guys to our friends and they have already booked their bike trip for their upcoming honeymoon. This bike trip was one of the highlights of our vacation!! We just found out we brought back a lifelong souvenir from Maui, nope don't worry not the lava rock, but we are going to have our first baby. We are still deciding between naming it Aloha or Haleakala or even Dave =)

Thanks again for a great time!

Hi,

I went on your September 10th tour and absolutely loved it. I have been telling everyone about it. One thing that I was hoping for is that you would get yourselves printed in Maui Revealed. I know a lot of people that have used that book. It seems quite popular. That way everyone would know to try your company.

Aloha,

We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our bike ride - what a blast! This was a highlight of our 20th anniversary trip. Dave and Shawn we both very professional and safety-conscious, yet provided a fun, educational and safe trip down the mountain. It was worth the 3:30 a.m. pickup to see that sunrise. The outerwear provided was warm and comfortable, they custom fitted each bike to the riders and everyone was made to feel safe and comfortable. Dave's sense of humor kept us all on our toes so early in the morning (ask him about the myna birds) and his knowledge of the island made the whole trip more enjoyable. I'm sending you a picture of our esteemed guides - what great guys!

Thank you SO MUCH and we'll definitely recommend you to anyone we know who is visiting Maui from California.

Aloha, Petra!!!

What a wonderful, wonderful time we had! While we were in Maui we crammed alot into our seven day trip and when anyone asks us what our favorite thing was, without hesitation, Richie and I both say the bike ride down Haleakala. Even though it was 3:00 AM, the long ride up Haleakala wasn't bad with Dave's commentary and history of the island...even though some of his jokes were pretty corny!! And one never to take anyone's word for anything, I ordered the pancakes for breakfast - that could have been breakfast for the rest of our trip!

I want to thank you and everyone involved in making this tour as wonderful as it was - it is something we will never forget. I'll miss our little discussions and look forward to seeing our pictures posted.

Aloha friends,

Thank you so much for making our sunrise Easter such a memorable time. Robb and Dave made the trip awesomely enjoyable. They went out of their way to show us sights that no other company would have done. They knew some of us were "deathly afraid" of heights and reassured us that it was a safe trip. You have been recommended to many of our friends as the only way to go. Many of the bigger companies did not seem to make their people feel as safe and comfortable. Thank you for making safety #1 with you. We agree with our friend Travis, from Indiana, that you put the safety and enjoyment of your guests first and made us all fee like family by the end of the journey. We look forward to the pictures and thank you again for the great trip.

Petra,

Just a quick thank you for the tour my wife and I took on Easter! Today was my first day back at the station so I wanted to e-mail you and thank you so much for the terrific time!

Robb and Dave were terrific guides and we had a ball! Everyone in our group really "bonded" and it made for a very enjoyable trip down the hill. The sunrise was SPECTACULAR and the ride down was equally as exciting.

Let me commend you on the safety aspect of the trip. The guides were terrific in keeping safety out #1 priority. As we were gearing up at the top it was obvious that we were being taken care of more so than several of the other groups that took off down the hill. Safety talks were given during the ride up, and at the summitt as well. While the guys preached safety, they made the lecture enjoyable...rather than something that most people would tune out. Kudos to Dave, Robb and everyone at Bike It Maui.

Thanks again!

Petra was always professional and Robb and Juan were entertaining and informative. The sunrise was spectacular and we had the great fortune to hear the park guard do her very moving Hawaiian chant. The ride down was beautiful and exhilarating and we always felt safe. Breakfast at Charley's was a treat - and we even had a young man in our group who was able to finish his pancakes! Sorry we missed Willie, but it was a blast anyway. Imagine our delight when we got home and found a new travel magazine with a story about Maui - and it mentioned Pa'ia and Charleys! Petra,

Hey, we just wanted to mention that we had a great time on our Bike trip. It was rainy at the top of Haleakala but we were able to bus down to 7500 and bike it in the clear weather. It was definately an experience we will remember.
Please tell the guys "Thank you" again. They definately educated us on the island. We even went back to Paia the last day of our trip and walked around and ate at Charley's again.
It feels as though Maui was months ago. We keep fighting snow flurries and rain. I love Wisconsin where I grew up but I rather be in Maui through the winter months.

I was wondering if you heard from the girls (sisters) and the other couple. I'm so name iliterate it's not funny. The sister were going to Oahu and the weather over there was rainy we heard. The honeymoon couple was going to Kaui and it didn't sound to good over there either. I just all went well for their vacations. We had a great group of people.

Hallo Petra,

Dear Petra,

We are just getting around to putting our photos together. We've been away a lot the past few months. Just visited your website to print and save our group photo. It brought back fond memories. We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed the tour. It was our first trip to Maui, hopefully won't be our last. This was our favourite day trip. It was so exhilirating and the scenery was spectacular.

Rob and Wuan were very professional and did a great job. They also had 2 trainees-Spencer and the guy from Minnesota who knew where Quetico Park was-very helpful as well. The breakfast at Charlie's hit the spot after the exciting ride. Everything was looked after, we appreciated all the little details.

Thanks again. We highly recommend this tour with Bike It Maui. We considered other companies, but heard good things about you guys. It was definitely worth it!

This was our first trip to Maui (we arrived Thurs. at 1am) & the bike trip was our 1st 'touristy' event . . . one that we will repeat if (my husband says 'when') we return to Maui. Rob & Spencer were great as driver & rider; enjoyed the tidbits of island history & current events and brunch at Charley's to wind up the ride. Also appreciated the safety concerns (i.e. if they put us in the van, we stayed in the van).

I was somewhat apprehensive (I'm a bit of a chicken when it comes to downhills & hadn't done alot of biking recently) & talked myself around a couple of the hairpin curves but overall enjoyed the experience. We have been talking it up with people we've met since then.

Dear Petra,

Bernard and I would both like to thank you, Wuan and Rob for our Guided Sunrise Bike Tour to the top of Mt. Haleakala. It was by far the highlight of our entire three week trip to Hawaii to three islands. We found Rob and Wuan to be professional, experienced and very informative. They also made the drive up the mountain and the bike ride down lots of fun. They obliviously enjoy their work. There is nothing in the world like being at the top of Haleakala at sunrise. The sun was spectacular! It looked like a diamond as it rose above the clouds far below. Nothing could prepare us for the incredible orange and red colour of inside the crater as the sun hit it. And then the ride down, words can hardly explain braking as we went into the curves and then riding the curve as we looked far (almost 11,000 feet to the valley below! I have never seen views like I saw that day. It was exhilarating and the view was outstanding. We felt safe under the guidance of Wuan and Rob who always kept our safety in mind. It was so nice when we stopped having Wuan suggest that I stand on the front of Bernard’s bike and balanced on his shoulders! Wuan took a picture of us posed like that! There was nothing like the aromatic smell of the eucalyptus trees as we descended to 7000 ft. We really enjoyed the stop at the proteus flower farm. The flowers were gorgeous!

And the brunch at Charley’s in Paia was delicious. You could just picture the hippies of the 60s visiting there. No wonder it was and is Willie Nelson’s favourite hangout. And the macadamia nut pancakes were delicious! Rob dared us to eat all of them and no one even got through half.

If anyone our age (50s) thinks that the ride is just for the younger ones, you are very wrong!! As it was all downhill, we The bikes are sturdy, comfortable in fact the widest, most comfortable seats we have ever ridden on.

Thanks so much Petra for mailing my coat to me on the Big Island. That was so kind. I didn’t expect that you would cover the cost of sending it too. That was way beyond the call of duty. It came in handy when we got home as it was about 20 degrees F back in Ottawa, Canada!

We fell in love with Maui. It was our favourite island. When we talk about it, we don’t say “if” we return, we say “when”. Next time, we would like to go on a tour of the crater too.

Again thanks so much for the lasting memories of the Guided Sunrise bike tour. We will make sure to tell all our friends travelling to Hawaii that the bike ride is a must.

Thanks for a great start to our Maui vacation. What an experience! I had not been on a bike in almost 20 years so I was more than a little nervous. Having gotten up at 2am the first day (night?) I was also questioning my sanity... but-WOW. No words can describe. A beautiful full moon was going down on one side while the sun was climbing over the clouds on the other. The big dipper was hanging so close it looked like it was about to ladle water out of the dark and dreaming pacific.
As the sun peaked over the clouds it lit them on fire. It was like watching the sun come up on the moon. The ride down (once I relaxed the death grip on my brakes) was incredible. Riding through the mist, seeing a rainbow, smelling the eucalyptuys trees...thanks for making us such wonderful memories!

We'll recommend you to everyone we know.

Aloha,
Well, we're finally back home in NYC and we're missing Maui already! I
just wanted to write letting you know that my husband and I both had a
fantastic time with Bike It Maui. What an awesome experience it was
watching the sunrise over Mt. Haleakala despite how cold it was up there!!
Lucas, our driver, was so cool and Dave, our bike leader, was awesome. I
was a little nervous at first so Dave kept me right behind him all the way
down. Dave is a great leader. His knowledge and years of experience kept
us safe and made it fun. We met some wonderful couples and in fact, one
was from NYC also. The breakfast at Charley's was a welcome addition
considering we were up well before the birds and it was delicious. Lucas
gave us a little tour of the pineapple plantation and showed us Willy
Nelson's home in Paia before heading back. Overall, it was one of the best

Dear Petra,
My family and I booked through Bike It Maui June 21st and Koko and Dave
were our tour directors. I must say Petra that Bike It Maui was the highlight
of our vacation and that Koko and Dave are the reasons for this. Koko and
Dave made the entire experience very enjoyable for my family and even Koko's
singing (although he is no Frank Sinatra) was very entertaining and made all of
us lauyh. We have already recommended several of our friends to make sure
they make reservations at Bike It Maui and with no other Biking company when
they visit Maui, which they'll be doing within the next several months.
Please tell Koko and Dave that our gang sends them both our best and thank
them for making our vacation and our experience with Bike It Maui so
enjoyable and fun. Enclosed you'll find some pictures that were taken from on
top of the Volcano in which Koko was so kind enough to take for us and also
our family picture taken last Christmas in which Koko will get a big kick out of.
I've also enclosed 3 calculators and day planners from my company, so if you
wouldn't mind, please give one of each to Koko and Dave and keep a calcutator
and day planner for yourself.
Thanks again Petra and thank you and Bike it Maui for a great time.

Dear Petra,

We just got back from our vacation to Maui tonight, and wanted to e-mail you and tell you that we had a fantastic time on our bike ride down Haleakala with Koko and Lucas. We observed other bike companies with huge groups and leaders screaming at their groups - but Koko and Lucas treated us like VIP's! They were very kind and very professional. At one point in the ride there is a sharp turn, and Lucas stopped our group ahead of the turn and warned us to proceed slowly. While he was talking to our group, another large group raced by, and one of the riders almost went off the side of the mountain because the group was going too fast. In places where it was safe, Lucas and Koko let us ride faster, but always kept us informed about what type of road conditions would be coming up. They were great!!

They called in our breakfast order to Charlie's ahead of time, and the food was just being placed on the table as we arrived. They showed us pineapple fields, sugar cane fields, beautiful flowers, an old church, and also made a couple of stops for pictures. It was a great time, and we wanted you to know what professional, kind, and FUN employees you have in Lucas and Koko. They made the ride down Haleakala great for our entire family!

Thanks again!

I wanted to tell you and everyone else what an awesome time my wife and I had on your bike tour. Not knowing which bike company to choose, I almost booked a company that lets you go at your own pace and doesn’t take you all the way to the top of the mountain. That would have been a HUGE mistake on my part! Fortunately we booked Bike It Maui and had a wonderful time. Our driver, Koko, was the best!!! He did a fabulous job keeping us awake and entertained on the way up the mountain which is a huge plus when it’s that early in the morning. Koko also got us up so that we were 3rd in line to go down the mountain….you definitely don’t want to have to wait on a bunch of groups in front of you when it’s time to ride. One of the other leaders also took us up to a more secluded area to watch the sun rise. While everyone else was packed in like a bunch of cows trying to watch the sun, we had an almost private view. Little tips like those definitely put you ahead of the competition. We really enjoyed the breakfast after the bike ride with the coconut syrup. For all of those who are trying to decide which company to choose for the bike ride, book Bike It Maui and you’ll definitely have a good time. Koko, thanks again for going back to get my camera that fell out of my pocket….you rock!

Aloha from my beautiful island to your beautiful island………………………………..

Let me begin by saying that the people working at Bike It Maui make you the premier company you are. Also, your focus on safety sets you apart from other biking companies. Lead by Dave and sheltered in the rear from descending cars by KoKo we felt safe and protected because of their commitment to safeguarding their valuable assets, The Blueberries. For those of us who became apprehensive during the accent to Haleakala Crater, KoKo and Dave’s sensitivity, patience and reassurance put our uneasiness to rest. Only KoKo and Dave could turn a bike excursion into a bike exploration. I can’t thank them enough for the exciting journey and the opportunity to view your spectacular sunrise and picturesque Maui from 10,000 feet. These memories will last a lifetime.

Bike It Maui is truly No ka oi

Subject: An Amazing Experience

Hi there. Just wanted to let you know what a great time we had on our bike experience on May 14 with Ralph and Lucas. I was pretty worried about how I would manage, not having biked much for years and just a little afraid of heights, but the trip was great. Once we made it through a couple of turns - it was no problem. Ralph and Lucas were great too - very smart and reassuring, a great pair to spend the day with. The whole trip was just incredible - seeing the volcano and being above the clouds (we rode through clouds!) was almost unreal. I have recommended Bike It Maui to several people that will be in Maui soon. Thanks again for a great day.

Hi Petra, Ralph, and Lucas.

Greetings from cold and rainy Canada. We're staying warm by remembering what a great time we had biking down the volcano. Led by free-spirited Lucas, and followed closely by the ever vigilant Ralph, we had an incredible day and made memories that will last a lifetime. Our trip biking down Haleakala was the highlight of our trip to your beautiful island. Hard to describe the thrill of actually biking THROUGH a cloud. The views as we descended from 10,000 feet were breathtaking. Lunch at Charley's, in the lovely little town of Paia, was the perfect end to a perfect day.

Ralph is truly an ambassador of aloha. While making our way to the crater, he pointed out sights, and spun stories about places along the way. Lucas - what can you say about Lucas - a great spirit - fun, sweet, and another wonderful testament to the spirit of aloha.

Our only regret about taking the tour will be that we may never find anything to top it!

Mahalo and aloha.

Just wanted you to know that my husband and I enjoyed our trip down Haleakala with Dave and Ralph!! We loved watching the sun come up that morning, it was breathtaking!!
Seeing the stars from up there was also amazing!! They felt so much closer.
I was a little anxious about getting on a bicycle after so many years, but once I got comfortable, it was the best bicycle ride of my life!!!
I will highly reccommend this to everyone I know!!
Thank you for the awesome experience!! You guys are great at what you do!!

I was dubious about the ride. I thought because I’m not a sporty type person that I would not be able to do it or perhaps that I would hold others up on the ride. Putting my doubts aside I throw caution to the wind and ‘biked it’. Koko and Lucas were professional and vigilant, making sure we had a safe and enjoyable experience. Koko was a scream! Ride or no ride, meeting Koko (a man that certainly loves his heritage) and Lucas (a young females heart throb!) was rewarding in itself. Thanks guys. Our group could tell that we had the best guides out of all of the operators there. Undoubtedly, ‘bike it’ was the highlight of my Hawaiian holiday.

Just returned from our Hawaiian vacation and had to tell you that our Bike Tour was the highlight of the vacation. Our guide Koko was the best part. I got a little motion sickness on the way up and he took such good care of me and then he kept the group entertained the rest of the day. We made many memories that will last forever and I don't think I'll ever forget Koko and Lucas. They did a great job and I'd definately recommend this to my friends. We heard other people say their guide was the best but we know that we had THE BEST CREW in Maui! Keep up the good work and if we get back to Hawaii, we'll give you a call!

Coco and Dave,

Thank you very much for a great time riding down the Haleakala Crater! We all had a lot of fun and it tops our list of the fun things we did in Maui. Big Al hasn’t stopped talking about it. J Not only were the views amazing, you two made this trip very memorable with your high energy and narration. I will never forget it! Attached is one of our pictures…

Petra,

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thanks and to let you know how great our trip was. From the beginning with Coco and Dave's entertaining and informative commentary all the way to the end with breakfast at Charley's it was a once in a lifetime kind of experience (which we hope to do again).

My wife had some apprehension on the ride up as she had not been on a bike in years but Coco and Dave helped her feel right at home once she got on the bike. Those guys did a great job!!!! The trip was great and I have already passed along the link to your website to a friend of mine who is making the trip to Maui later this month.

Thanks again,

I can't say enough about the great trip you guys put on. Koko and Lucas are the best. They were completely devoted to giving us the best trip possible up and down the mountain. The breakfast that followed was also terrific. We can't thank you enough for one of the best parts of our Hawaii trip. We have told everyone about our trip and recommended you guys to everyone, including our travel agent. We plan to return to Maui in the future and will definetely book another trip with your company.

My husband, daughter and I took the bike ride earlier this month. What a trip! We all had a wonderful time do mostly in part to Coco and Lucas. They were very helpful, cheerful and supportive of a few jittery nerves. The view was fantantic and definitely a site to behold. Finishing off at Charlie's was the topping on the cake! My wife & I were in Maui for our 10yr Anniversary. This trip was an experience we will never forget!! The views from the top of Haleakala were breathtaking! The sky before dawn was incredible, it was better than any planetarium! The sunrise was amazing to see over the crater, walking up to the very top was worth it, a truly rememberable sight! As far as your staff, KoKo & Dave were fantastic! They made sure that the novice riders and the experienced bikers had a fun safe ride! My wife was nervous about riding such a long way, but afterward she was not the least bit tired, and very pleased we did it! Attached is are pictures you are welcome to use on you website. Please
make sure Koko & Dave get this note, it was their knowledge and understanding of the mountain that made this trip very enjoyable for both myself and my wife! (See attached file: Hawaii 10yr 119.jpg)(See attached file: Hawaii 10yr 122.jpg)

Just had to let you know my husband and I did the ride on our 2nd day in Maui. Koko and Dave were awesome. They are hilarious people so early in the morning. We had a fantastic ride down with a great group of people. Looking at the other groups I am very glad we booked our trip with you as we felt very safe, even after hearing about some of the accidents that happen with other groups when they go down. The scenery was great and the food at the bottom was a nice reward. You guys should sell shirts with your logo about biking down 38 miles.

Thanks again,

My wife and I were in Maui last week for our honeymoon and decided to try the Sunrise bike ride down Haleakala. We were told by friends that we had to do it, but no one told us which company to go with. Well I can say that we are extremely happy that we chose Bike It Maui, from the time we were picked up at our hotel we were made to feel right at home. Our driver was Koko and he kept us laughing the entire trip, and our guide was David. For me it wasn't just about the bike ride down the volcano...we could have done that with any company. It was the entire experience of getting picked up at our hotel so we didn't have to drive up there ourselves, it was waiting for the sun to rise and Koko adding commentary to our vacation video, it was Dave's professionalism during the ride, it was breakfast at Charley's at the end, and it was meeting a bunch of great people in our group. We did this on our last day in Maui and I don't think there would have been a better way to end our honeymoon than the way we did. Thank you to Koko and Dave, and thank you to your company for making our trip a memorable one.

We wanted to send a personal thanks to Coco and Lucas for making this such a memorable trip. They were both friendly, funny and helpful in fullfilling all our needs. Our trip would not have been so much fun without them as our guides. FYI, our picture is on your web site for August.we're picture # DSC00125.
